If you want renewable energy for your home and solar isn't practical, you might consider wind.
I take part in Xcel's Windsource Energy Program, which enables customers to pay a little extra every month towards renewable resources. That money is used to purchase wind energy for Xcel's overall grid. As the program grows, more wind energy is added. Thanks to Windsource customers, Xcel's renewable energy production is above government requirements and continues to grow.
Windsource offers several subscription options. For instance, the 100 kWh plan is equivalent to powering your lights for a month. I pay $11 per month and Xcel invests in wind energy that generates enough power to cover the needs of my entire home. Apply for the program here.
I'm proud to once again sponsor the 16th annual Whittier-Mapleton Hill Garden Tour on Saturday, June 2nd. The Garden Tour showcases outstanding gardens in Boulder's historic Mapleton Hill neighborhood. These are fantastic, private gardens. The tou r is held on the same day as the tremendously popular Mapleton Hill Rummage Sale, with yard sales abounding . Check out the treasures, stroll some gardens and grab lunch from a food truck. A perfect day.
The Garden Tour benefits Whittier International School , a public elementary in the heart of Boulder. My daughter Olivia is a proud alum! Tickets and info www.WhittierGardenTour.com
